The Project Proposal & Preliminary Plan (25%) Part B (15%)

1. b. Preliminary Design 15%
The design presentation will be unique to your project and should demonstrate good pedagogy and course structure. You may follow the ADDIE, OTARA or Rapid prototyping methodology. The following guidelines are to be followed as appropriate to your particular project.

o Description of how the learning outcome could be implemented including:
List of objective(s):
·         To provide basic understanding and learning Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences (KSA*) pertaining to Augmented Reality (AR).
·         Providing the learners with knowledge of the software required, and how to create their own basic Augmented Reality app.

List of topics to be covered:
·         What will I learn and achieve from this course: ID key learnings, outcomes.
·         Introduction to Augmented Reality.
·         What is AR being used for: past, present, and the future.
·         Augmented Reality and popular trends and changes around the globe (Statistical trends illustrated*).
·         Where do I start: Software, other preparation requirements.
·         Our first Augmented Reality Development: your life as a AR developer may start here….
·         Let’s get started then: Our 1st Augmented Reality App Development
·         Augmented Reality: Creating relevant and practical Apps and experiences.
·         measurements of achievements: review outcomes and future recommendations for those wishing to progress further.

List of possible activities (include any interactive elements):
·         Review and download provided videos and other media related to AR.
·         Review and download provided PowerPoint information.
·         Review and download provided any other provided data or information.
·         (Optional*) review the links provided and recommended.

How the learning activity/activities will be assessed:
·         Michael (Lecturer) advised it may be suitable for us to put in place measurements of achievements (achieved/ comprehended*) instead of a marking schedule etc

o A graphical design (storyboard) that shows what you intend to create. This may be screen shots from a prototype system, and should include:

A navigation map or diagram of the structure:
Enrol into the course via the EIT online site (the following is an example*):

A diagram showing a typical page (will give an overall design impression)
The following is an example of the current state of a typical page:

A graphical description for each of the “pages”:
The following is a draft of what each of the pages look like (NOTE: they will change in the near future*).

The resources (such as images, animations, sounds, and video) that are required. (These resources may or may not exist yet)
·         Provide basic introduction information, pertaining to Augmented Reality and other relevant things; from the likes of Wikipedia and other sources.
·         APA reference sources of images, animations, sounds and video provided within this paper.
·         Provided examples of how to set up and complete an AR App (personal creation or sourced with references*).

The Project Proposal & Preliminary Plan (25%) Part A (10%)

                                        Statement of Authenticity

I confirm that:
* This is an original assessment and is entirely my own work.
* It contains no material previously published or written by another person or myself except where due acknowledgement is made in the text.
* No material which to a substantial extent, has been submitted for any other academic course; is included without acknowledgement.

The project proposal will be a minimum of four pages and must cover the following points:

Describe the learning outcome and audience:
The learning outcome and purpose of this project is to develop something similar to a basic introduction paper/ course to provide anyone who may be interested in Augmented Reality; to gain some basic skills, knowledge, and experiences.
The current focus audience will be primarily targeted towards students, teachers, and others who could potentially enjoy learning and incorporating Augmented Reality into their everyday life’s and sense of purposes.
Describe two possible solutions (e.g. LMS, PowerPoint, Cloud):
One solution (based upon the examples provided above*) or recommended additive to this project could be adding PowerPoints to each week (as we typically receive via most of our papers in EIT*). Content maybe written within each PowerPoint, such as key definitions, points, and instructions for set up and development.
Another solution or recommended media, could be to provide video clips/ media/.mp4 etc, to compliment step by step instructions and examples; further developing transparency, understanding and learner’s confidence.
Identify which is the preferred solution (Basic overview):
Perhaps consider identifying the ‘preferred solution’ as the PowerPoint option (as it may be universally easier for some to develop skills, knowledge, and experiences from this preference*). My personal option would be the video clips/ media/.mp4 etc, as a preferred solution (as it would provide an entire ‘start to finish’ explanation and example*).
For the preferred solution explain how the learning needs of the target audience will be catered for:
PowerPoint
Catering for the learning needs of the targeted audience:
·        A paper will be developed (in a sandbox/ test environment*) within the official EIT Online site.
·        Students and lecturers are currently being enrolled into the paper I have initialised development within; providing real-life responses (increasing the validity and real response rates, based on actual audience/ participants*).
·        Paper/ course name and structure provided:
o   ITAR5.101: paper created and developed within the EIT Online website.
o   10 weeks of content added (a folder with learning material listed under each week. NOTE: this is not designed to be a full on official NZQA paper, but more so for the casual learner; who may be working/ studying full time and wishes to do this part time*).
o   PowerPoint information/ presentation materials place appropriately within folders; providing course material.
o   Alternative media (videos/ mp4, photos etc) materials place appropriately within folders; providing course material.
o   Recommended and alternative links to read and provide alternative starting points to discover, materials place appropriately within folders; providing course material.
Describe the methodology you intend to use to develop your learning object with reasons why it would be a suitable choice:
Methodology:
·        To provide course material online.
·        Have scheduled key times available for video conferencing (providing people with an opportunity to establish live contact to hopefully answer any questions or provide potentially additional support required*).
·        Email support: alternative contact method with key times and days provided (managed response requirements*).
The previously mentioned bullet points, with regards to methodology and reasoning for them being a suitable choice:
This approach would allow people to be able to have the flexibility to enjoy developing Skills, knowledge, and experiences (KSA’s*) from the course by having the material available to the 24/7. Time-frames to complete key tasks can be established to provide them with a goal to aim for and a means of progression monitoring.  Video conferencing and email methods of contact will be set up in this manner to provide a reasonable balance of being able to review potential questions and establishing key times for people to look forward to and know response times available.

Develop a project plan. This is a list of tasks with dates and can be done in MS-Project, MS-Excel, or an MS-Word table:
